CCSA was established in Boise in 1967 when Dr. Rodney Herr brought cardiac surgery to Boise. From those early years of groundbreaking medical and surgical leadership to today’s era of minimally invasive surgery and advanced surgical critical care, our practice has brought the most modern advances in cardiovascular services to our region.

Cardiothoracic & Vascular Associates

CVA Physicians Over the last forty years the fields of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Vascular Surgery have seen enormous technological advances and specialization. In 2005 the practice was renamed to reflect the changing nature of this dynamic multi-specialty physician group. The new practice name, Cardiothoracic & Vascular Associates (CVA), reflected this change in focus and specialization.

St. Luke's Clinic - Cardiothoracic & Vascular Associates

In July 2010, the physicians and staff of Cardiothoracic & Vascular Associates joined St. Luke’s to form St. Luke’s Clinic - Cardiothoracic & Vascular Associates. 

This partnership was created as a result of our desire to work more closely with St. Luke’s to best serve patients in the community and establish a sustainable model of care. We remain committed to providing the highest level of care to our patients as we join a team that shares our passion for excellence and innovation.
