Michael J. Tullis, MD, FACS
Dr. Tullis hails from Wausau, Wisconsin. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, with Honors and attended the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He then completed his training in General Surgery at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics.
Dr. Tullis went on to specialize in Vascular Surgery at the University of Washington Medical Center under the direction of Dr. D. Eugene Strandness, Jr.
Following his vascular training, Dr. Tullis took an academic teaching position as an Assistant Professor of Surgery, at the University of New Mexico, where he was extensively involved in endovascular surgical interventions. In 1999, Dr. Tullis was part of the surgical team that placed the first FDA commercially approved Ancure® AAA endograft in the United States.
Dr. Tullis is board certified in Vascular Surgery and General Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Additionaly, he is a member of the American Association of Vascular Surgery, International Society of Endovascular Specialists, Peripheral Vascular Surgery Society, Pacific Northwest Vascular Society, Idaho Medical Association and the Ada County Medical Society.
Dr. Tullis is particularly interested in the comprehensive, minimally invasive management of varicose vein disease.
Dr. Tullis joined Cardiothoracic & Vascular Associates in 2000. He lives in Boise with his wife Michelle, daughter Reagan and dog Sage. His outside interests include mountain biking, snowboarding, hunting and fishing.
