Board Certification in Vascular Surgery

From the American Board of Surgery:

Certification by the Vascular Surgery Board of the American Board of Surgery means that a physician has met the highest standards of education, training and knowledge in the specialty of vascular surgery.

Such physicians have comprehensive expertise in the diagnosis and care of patients with diseases and disorders of the blood vessels - specifically the arteries and veins outside of the brain and heart.

Certification by the ABS is a voluntary process meant to recognize individuals who have met a defined standard of education, training and knowledge specifically in the field of surgery.
